Saudi-led coalition says it destroyed Houthi ballistic missile fired towards kingdom
The Saudi-led coalition reported that it destroyed a Houthi ballistic missile fired toward Saudi Arabia's eastern region early Thursday. Civil Defense issued alerts for Najran and the Eastern Province before declaring the danger had passed. The incident follows recent Houthi attacks on Saudi oil facilities and airports.
The Saudi-led coalition fighting Yemen's Houthis said it destroyed a ballistic missile fired by the group toward the kingdom's eastern region early on Thursday, as hostilities between both sides show no signs of abating. Saudi Arabia's Civil Defense issued two alerts warning of potential danger in Najran, in southwestern Saudi Arabia, and in the Eastern Province, before saying minutes later that the danger had passed in both areas. This follows a Houthi announcement about attacks on Saudi oil facilities and airports on Saturday, including a Saudi Aramco facility in Yanbu, the Rabigh oil refinery, and King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh. The terror group's military spokesperson, Yahya Saree, said it also targeted King Fahd International Airport in Dammam, as well as Najran airport and an air base in Khamis Mushait.
