Saudi Arabia has topped the world in date exports by value for the fourth consecutive year, with export value reaching approximately 1.938 billion riyals (about $517 million) during 2025. According to data from the World Trade Center, reported by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the value of Saudi date exports rose by 14.3% in 2025 compared to the previous year, while the increase was about 59.5% compared to 2021. The National Center for Palms and Dates said Saudi exports reached more than 125 countries, supported by supply chain development, improved export efficiency, and expansion into new markets. Saudi Arabia's date production exceeds 1.9 million tons annually, and the kingdom has more than 37 million palm trees distributed across various regions. CEO of the center, Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Mousa, said the expansion of date exports resulted from the integrated efforts of government agencies and the private sector. Through developing the sector, Saudi Arabia aims to increase its contribution to GDP and boost non-oil exports, as part of the Saudi Vision 2030 targets. Saudi Arabia leads the world in date export value, while Egypt ranks first globally in production volume, with annual output nearing two million tons.
