Sales up 90%: what Israelis are buying before Yom Kippur
Ahead of Yom Kippur, Israel has seen a surge in demand for bicycles and related accessories. Delivery service Wolt reported a 90% increase in orders, while the Yohananof chain has sold out of all children's models. Experts link the boom to the tradition of empty roads and a return to normal routines.
Ahead of Yom Kippur, Israel is experiencing a sharp rise in sales of bicycles and related accessories. The express delivery service Wolt recorded a nearly 90% jump in orders for two-wheeled transport compared to average figures. At the Yohananof chain, all children's models were completely sold out in the first days of the rush. Major children's chains, including Idan 2000 and Kfar ha-Sha'ashu'im, confirm they are prepared for the traditional influx of customers. Owner of the Rosen and Mintz chain, Gadi Mintz, notes that sales jumped by 10% thanks to the psychological feeling of returning to a normal lifestyle. Customers remain patient, looking forward to the joy of children riding on car-free streets. Concurrently, there is record demand for protective helmets, lighting devices, gloves, and reflective elements. A representative of the company Matzman et ha-Mirutz, Roi Nesimi, notes that Israelis have become more conscious about safety.
