Rights Center: 21,745 Children Martyred in Gaza Since October 2023
The Himaya Center for Human Rights has issued a fact sheet titled 'Genocide of a Generation,' documenting the killing of 21,745 children under 18 in Gaza since October 2023, and the injury of approximately 46,000, including 11,000 cases of limb amputation. It also records 123 deaths due to malnutrition and 293 deaths among newborns, and the deprivation of 700,000 children of basic rights.
The Himaya Center for Human Rights has issued a fact sheet titled 'Genocide of a Generation,' documenting the killing of 21,745 children under the age of 18 in the Gaza Strip since the start of the war in October 2023. The center noted approximately 46,000 injuries among children, including nearly 11,000 cases of lower limb amputations. It also recorded 123 deaths among children due to malnutrition and dehydration, and 293 deaths among newborns and premature infants, amid deteriorating health services, power outages, and medication shortages. It stated that about 700,000 children have been deprived of basic rights including health, education, and adequate housing, and that about 300,000 children under the age of five have suffered from malnutrition and starvation. The center called for independent and transparent international investigations and accountability for those responsible for serious violations of international law.
