The IDF and Shin Bet confirmed that during the night (Saturday) they carried out an attempted strike in Gaza City targeting the terrorist Ali al-A'moudi, Deputy Chairman of Hamas's political bureau in the Gaza Strip. Al-A'moudi is described as "the strongman in Gaza" and served as the right-hand man and personal assistant of Yahya Sinwar, and was involved in decision-making for the October 7 massacre. In his past, he was involved in the murder of four Israelis in Judea and Samaria in 1993 and in the incident in which Shin Bet coordinator Noam-Menachem Cohen fell in 1994 in Ramallah. He was released in the Shalit deal. The strike was carried out from the air while taking steps to minimize harm to civilians, using precision munitions. The results of the strike are still under review.
