The Pentagon has drawn up plans for an intensive three-day strikes operation against Iran, the New York Times reported this evening (Thursday). The operation would include targets in Iran's missile and drone array, in energy facilities and in Revolutionary Guards headquarters. US President Donald Trump has in recent months rejected five proposals for extensive military operations against Iran and the Houthis. On Thursday Trump said his country would not attack Iran before the midterm elections, noting the progress of the diplomatic talks. According to the report, some of Trump's advisers doubt that further strikes would change Tehran's position, while others believe a short operation could increase pressure on Iran's economy, which is weakening.
