The National Office for the Defense of Land and Resistance to Settlement reports settler attacks in the West Bank averaged 7.4 daily in October 2026, up from 5 daily last year, alongside accelerated settlement plans and land seizures.
The National Office for Defense of Land and Resistance to Settlement, in its weekly report issued on Saturday, stated that settler attacks in the West Bank have sharply escalated, averaging 7.4 attacks per day in October, compared to about 5 attacks per day in the same period last year. The number of attacks reached 39 in a single day at the start of the olive harvest season. The attacks were concentrated in the governorates of Nablus, Ramallah and al-Bireh, and Hebron, and included beatings, gunfire, vandalism of olive trees, and theft of crops. Hebron alone recorded the vandalism of 3,366 trees. In the context of land seizure, the occupation authorities issued military orders to seize approximately 26,500 dunams of land in Deir Nizam, Umm Safa, and Attara northwest of Ramallah, and more than 11,000 dunams of land in Deir Abu Daif and Qabatiya in Jenin. They also announced the classification of about 370 dunams of land in Abu Dis and Arab al-Sawahra east of Jerusalem as "state land" for the establishment of the "Mishmar Yehuda" settlement. The new settlement "Shalim" was opened on the lands of Salem village east of Nablus, becoming the ninth in the northern West Bank in less than a year. The report focuses on numbers and official procedures without citing Israeli sources.
