Vasilije Micić starred with 31 points and nine three-pointers on 13 attempts, setting a club record for most three-pointers by a player in a single game, and led the Reds to an evening where they tied the club record with 19 three-pointers on 31 attempts. Tamir Blatt made his debut for Hapoel against his former team and scored nine points. Maccabi Tel Aviv suffered its fifth consecutive loss across all competitions, and the fans responded with boos and calls to sell the team. Tonight's derby was the first of three within less than two weeks: next Monday the teams will meet in the Winner Cup final, and three days later they will face off again in the EuroLeague.
