Pro-Palestinians distributed anti-Israel leaflets in London hospitals - and were removed from the premises

Pro-Palestinian activists distributed leaflets accusing Israel of genocide in London hospitals, including Royal Free in Hampstead and University College Hospital. Security staff removed them and destroyed the leaflets. The incident sparked sharp reactions from Jewish groups and the government's antisemitism advisor.

Pro-Palestinian activists distributed leaflets in London hospitals, accusing Israel of genocide and deliberate starvation of Gaza's population since October 7, 2023. The leaflets were spread in NHS medical facilities, including Royal Free Hospital in Hampstead, which serves a large Jewish population, and University College Hospital in central London. The leaflets were left in public areas and chemotherapy treatment rooms. Security at Royal Free Hospital located the activists, asked them to leave, and collected and destroyed the leaflets. According to a report in The Telegraph, the campaign group Global Health for Palestine distributed the leaflets in recent weeks. The leaflets also attacked the government's antisemitism advisor, John Mann, and his report on combating antisemitism in the healthcare system. The director of the organization British Lawyers for Israel, Caroline Turner, said the leaflets frighten and harass Jewish and Israeli patients. Mann responded sharply, saying the healthcare system is no place for extreme politics. In contrast, the organization's chair, Dr. Hoda Mahmoud, previously described Mann's recommendations as racist cultural erasure.
