The Prisoners' Media Office revealed a brutal repressive assault carried out by Israeli occupation forces against Gaza Strip prisoners in Janot prison, coinciding with the anniversary of October 7. The office stated in a press release that the repressive forces stormed the prisoners' rooms using police dogs, fired rubber bullets indiscriminately, sprayed gas and pepper, and assaulted them with direct beatings using sticks and clubs. The assault resulted in several prisoners suffering fractures in their hands, one prisoner sustaining burns from a direct grenade strike to his hand, and the destruction of eyeglasses for a prisoner suffering from severe vision impairment and scabies. The forces deliberately beat prisoners with boils on their bodies, causing bleeding. They refused to transfer a prisoner with a metal-plated leg to the clinic. The attack was accompanied by retaliatory measures including depriving prisoners of breakfast, delaying lunch, and preventing the entry of shower devices. The office held the occupation authorities fully responsible for the lives of the prisoners, calling on human rights and international institutions to intervene urgently.
