Politics and Money: The Conflict of Interest of KKL-JNF Chairman Eyal Ostinsky
An investigation by News 14 reveals documents raising questions about conflicts of interest involving KKL-JNF Chairman Eyal Ostinsky: a half-million shekel contract with an organization linked to the Yashar party, signing a conflict-of-interest agreement 36 days after the apparent deadline, and participation in a budget discussion of about 90 million shekels concerning a division where his wife is employed.
An investigation by News 14's Yossi Asulin reveals documents raising questions about possible conflicts of interest in the conduct of KKL-JNF Chairman Eyal Ostinsky. Ostinsky, a public supporter of Gadi Eisenkot, chairman of the Yashar party, has spoken harshly against political rivals. The investigation focuses on the 'Salon Otef' project of Organization 255, which KKL-JNF intended to co-fund with up to half a million shekels. Tal Ohana Hachmon, a position-holder in the organization, joined the Yashar list. KKL-JNF announced the project's launch on September 30, 2026, before the deadline for submitting alternatives on October 14. Another key finding: Ostinsky's conflict-of-interest agreement was signed on August 2, 2026, 36 days after the apparent deadline according to KKL-JNF's regulations (June 27, 2026). Additionally, Ostinsky participated in a management committee meeting on March 2, 2026, that approved a budget of about 90 million shekels for a division where his wife is employed, without any recorded declaration of the family tie. The legal advisor of the Likud party, attorney Ilan Bombach, appealed to the State Comptroller to investigate suspicions of using KKL-JNF's status for political propaganda. KKL-JNF and Ostinsky's response rejects the claims.
