Pindrus against the election of Amir Ohana as Knesset Speaker: "It was a malfunction, a desecration of God's name"
MK Yitzhak Pindrus (United Torah Judaism) attacked the election of Amir Ohana as Knesset Speaker due to his affiliation with the LGBTQ community, calling the move a "malfunction" and a "desecration of God's name" and claiming it did not receive the approval of the rabbinic leadership.
MK Yitzhak Pindrus of United Torah Judaism harshly attacked the election of Amir Ohana as Knesset Speaker, due to his affiliation with the LGBTQ community. In an interview with the podcast "On the Agenda" from the newspaper "Mishpacha", Pindrus called the move a "malfunction" and a "desecration of God's name", and claimed that to the best of his knowledge the election did not receive the approval of the great Torah sages. Pindrus quoted the verse "And the land shall not vomit you out" and warned that desecration of God's name has a price. According to him, a similar election in the future would need to receive the approval of the rabbinic leadership. The article notes that this is not the first time Pindrus has spoken out against the LGBTQ community, and recalls that in June 2023 he said in an interview with Channel 12 that the LGBTQ movement is more dangerous to the State of Israel than "ISIS and Hezbollah".
