Passengers safe: Gett launches new AI feature

Gett launches a new safety zone in its app, including real-time location sharing, a quick-dial button for local police, and incident reporting classified by AI according to urgency level. CEO Mark Oon stated that the move aims to increase user trust and give them control and peace of mind throughout the journey.

Gett is launching a new safety zone in its app, set to be released today (Sunday). The feature includes three main tools: real-time route sharing, allowing users to send a link to loved ones to track the taxi's progress and driver details; reporting safety incidents classified by artificial intelligence according to urgency level; and a quick-dial button for the police that automatically adapts to emergency centers in the country where the ride is taking place. CEO Mark Oon explained that trust is an important component of the user experience, and safety is a central part of building that trust. According to him, the company plans to launch similar solutions for its driver fleet in the future. The feature was developed following consumer research and conversations with users.
