Palestinian factions and Church Committee demand provision of necessary aid to the displaced
Palestinian factions demanded the entry of 600 aid trucks daily into Gaza, and the Church Committee called on world churches to take urgent action to relieve the population and protect places of worship, as the suffering of the displaced worsens due to rain and cold.
On Saturday, Palestinian factions issued a joint statement demanding pressure on Israel to allow 600 aid trucks daily into the Gaza Strip to address the repercussions of the winter storm. The Supreme Presidential Committee for Church Affairs called on world churches to take "urgent and effective" action to relieve the Strip and its churches amid increasingly difficult conditions as rains intensify. The factions held "the Zionist occupation" fully and directly responsible for the worsening humanitarian tragedy in Gaza, where over two million Palestinians face the effects of genocide, destruction, and siege, while rain and cold leave hundreds of thousands of displaced people in tents flooded with water and mud without shelter. They noted that with the first winter storm, a harsh picture is emerging of what awaits the Strip in the coming months.
