FIFA imposed a one-year transfer ban on Hapoel Haifa, following a complaint by Polissya Zhytomyr regarding the solicitation of Ofek Biton to sign with the club while still under contract. The club was ordered to pay compensation of 350,000 euros. Biton, who moved to Hapoel Haifa in 2025 on a free transfer, told Channel 14: "A delusional decision that will change, they're just making a story out of it." Hapoel Haifa has filed an appeal with the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne and requested a stay of the ban pending a ruling. Biton, 27, is in the final stages of recovery from a cruciate ligament injury and is attracting interest from many clubs.
