Nissim Louk, father of October 7 victim Shani Louk, exits Knesset race, endorses Ofer Winter

Nissim Louk, father of October 7 victim Shani Louk, withdrew from the Knesset race and endorsed Ofer Winter's Amcha Israel party. Louk had been running with the right-wing Orot Hashachar party. The same day, the IDF confirmed killing a Hamas terrorist involved in his daughter's abduction.

Nissim Louk, whose daughter Shani Louk was murdered by Hamas on October 7, 2023, announced his withdrawal from the Knesset race and his endorsement of Ofer Winter's Amcha Israel party. Louk had been running as part of the right-wing Orot Hashachar party. He said he was confident in Winter's leadership and his ability to implement a policy of full migration from Gaza, adding that Winter's new party had no involvement in the events of October 7. The announcement came on the same day the IDF confirmed it had killed Hamas terrorist Tamer Mohammad Ibrahim Al-Zabaq, who was involved in Shani Louk's abduction, in an airstrike in the Jabalya area of northern Gaza. Shani Louk, a 22-year-old German-Israeli tattoo artist, was abducted from the Nova music festival and killed; her remains were recovered in May 2024.
