Nir Hefetz, a former spokesman and media advisor to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, claimed in an interview with Kan News that Jonathan Uriah, Netanyahu's close advisor, evaded a required conflict of interest arrangement. According to Hefetz, Uriah worked for Qatar and advised it against Egypt, and therefore was obligated to disclose this and arrange the conflict of interest. Hefetz said that between 2015 and 2018, until his arrest, he served as an external advisor to the Netanyahu family, and under a conflict of interest agreement was required to submit his client list every three months. He stated that the Attorney General sent a letter about the agreement to him and the Prime Minister, so Netanyahu knew a similar arrangement was required for Uriah. Hefetz estimated his salary from the Likud was 32,000 shekels per month, yet an agreement was signed with him. When asked why Netanyahu does not distance Uriah, Hefetz replied that doing so would dominate the agenda. He later said he does not think Netanyahu will be the next prime minister, and bet on a government led by Gadi Eisenkot. Hefetz, a state witness in the Netanyahu cases, said his testimony is pure truth, and added that he is suing the state for several million shekels. Last night, transcripts from Uriah's investigation were revealed, showing he leaked information from the cabinet, allegedly on Netanyahu's orders.
