Netanyahu's investigation in focus: Mandelblit returns to the witness stand

Former Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit returns to testify in Netanyahu's trial. Defense attorney Amit Hadad claims investigative actions were taken before approvals. Mandelblit defended his decisions but criticized some of the investigators' actions.

The testimony of former Attorney General Professor Avichai Mandelblit will continue this morning (Tuesday), Wednesday, and Thursday at the Jerusalem District Court as part of Netanyahu's trial. Mandelblit was summoned to testify by Netanyahu's defense attorneys, Amit Hadad and Noa Milstein. Mandelblit is the one who filed the indictment in the three cases against the Prime Minister: Case 1000 (the gifts case), Case 2000 (the Mozes-Netanyahu conversations), and Case 4000 (the Bezeq-Walla case). Last week, he testified twice. Hadad focused the last court day on actions taken by investigators, he claims, before the Attorney General authorized the investigation of Netanyahu. Mandelblit clarified that he gave approvals to open investigations in all cases, but also criticized certain investigative actions he was not aware of in advance, according to him, such as the investigative ploy involving Nir Hefetz's associate.
