Netanyahu endangered Mossad operatives to hide the submarine deal he himself approved

Attorney Eliad Shraga, head of the Movement for Quality Government, published a book claiming that Prime Minister Netanyahu approved the sale of German submarines to Egypt, concealed this from security chiefs including the Mossad director, and later ordered action against the deal while endangering Mossad operatives. Shraga alleges Netanyahu deceived the Mossad chief and sent him on dangerous missions to investigate the sale.

Attorney Eliad Shraga, head of the Movement for Quality Government, published this week the book "Corruption in the Depths" reviewing the submarine affair. In an interview with Kan News, Shraga claimed that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu approved the sale of German submarines to Egypt in 2010, concealed this from security chiefs including the Mossad director, and later ordered action against the deal while endangering the lives of Mossad operatives. According to him, Netanyahu deceived the Mossad chief and sent him on dangerous missions to investigate the sale. Shraga described how in 2014, Amos Gilad learned in Germany that approval had been given to sell two additional submarines to Egypt, and that Netanyahu denied this to Gilad, Ya'alon, and Harel. Shraga claimed that during his testimony to the investigative committee, Netanyahu answered "I didn't know" 50 times and "I didn't remember" 85 times. He dismissed the claim that Netanyahu received something in return that cannot be published, noting that the defense system received a $160 million discount on the purchase of the sixth submarine.
