A movement appearing to be a Nazi salute was documented at Marine Le Pen's campaign launch rally in Orléans, France. During the event, four activists from the Union of Jewish Students in France (UEJF) raised a protest sign against antisemitism and were forcibly ejected from the hall. The union claimed its activists were attacked, choked, and violently removed, with one bleeding from the nose. Le Pen, seeking to broaden her support ahead of the presidential race, declared her intention to form a national unity government. A poll gives her about 33% support in the first round, but she remains controversial, among other things due to her conviction for illegal use of EU funds.
