More than 90 female prisoners subjected to organized crimes in occupation prisons
On Palestinian Women's Day, prisoner institutions reported that more than 90 Palestinian female prisoners are subjected to organized crimes in occupation prisons, including torture, starvation, and sexual assaults, with the spread of scabies due to harsh conditions and denial of medical treatment.
On Palestinian Women's Day, prisoner institutions stated that the Israeli occupation authorities continue to detain more than 90 Palestinian women, who are subjected to systematic violations and crimes inside prisons and investigation centers. In a statement, the institutions pointed to the worsening conditions of female prisoners since the start of the genocide war, and the spread of scabies among them due to denial of medical treatment and hygiene supplies. They accused the occupation prison administration of denying the spread of the disease and refusing to provide necessary treatment. The institutions explained that violations include physical and psychological torture, starvation, denial of medical treatment, and sexual assaults including strip searches, harassment, and threats of rape, along with insults, repression, repeated raids, beatings, and humiliation. They noted that human rights organizations have documented more than 810 cases of arrests of Palestinian women since October 7, 2023, in the West Bank including Jerusalem and the 1948 occupied territories, the latest being the girl Marah al-Za'qiq who was arrested today from Hebron.
