Ministry of Health: rabid jackal found near Kibbutz Gesher

The Israeli Ministry of Health reported the discovery of a rabid jackal near Kibbutz Gesher, north of the Shulamit base. One person was attacked by this jackal and has been referred for preventive treatment. An epidemiological investigation is ongoing. The ministry urges anyone who had contact with the infected jackal or any stray animal between October 14 and 28 inclusive to urgently contact the health bureau in Afula or the nearest bureau.
