Michael Carrick's position as Manchester United manager continues to weaken, and according to reports from France and Britain, a change may be coming soon. Among the candidates to replace him: Didier Deschamps, former France national team manager who won the 2018 World Cup; Julian Nagelsmann; Eddie Howe; and Fabian Hürzeler. The team is ranked 17th in the Premier League, above the relegation zone only on goal difference, after the worst start to a season in its history. The 3-2 win over Roma in the Champions League ended a nine-match winless streak, but the pressure remains. The upcoming match against Aston Villa on Sunday may decide Carrick's future.
