French actress Marina Vlady, widow of Vladimir Vysotsky, died on September 24 at the age of 88. Relatives reported her death to AFP. Born near Paris to Russian emigrant parents, she acted for Godard, Welles, and Tavernier, and won the Cannes Film Festival award in 1963 for her role in the film "The Queen Bee".

Marina Vlady (born Ekaterina-Marina Polyakova-Baidarova) was born near Paris to emigrants from Russia. She first appeared in film in an Italian movie at age 11. As an actress, she worked with renowned directors Jean-Luc Godard, Orson Welles, Bertrand Tavernier, and acted alongside actor Marcello Mastroianni. In 1963, Vlady won the Cannes Film Festival award for her role in director Marco Ferreri's film "The Queen Bee" (also known as "The Conjugal Bed").
