Former Education and Culture Minister Limor Livnat, once a senior figure in Likud, announced she will support Naftali Bennett in the upcoming elections. In a post on X, Livnat explained that her political views have not changed, but she said Likud under Benjamin Netanyahu has strayed from its values and the legacy of Menachem Begin. Livnat wrote: "I have decided: I am with Bennett!! To be honest, it wasn't hard. He and I are alike. For the integrity of the land. Against a Palestinian state. For the necessary correction in society: unity against division and rift, and of course against draft dodging." She further attacked: "I was in Likud for 50 years, and I haven't moved an inch from my views. Netanyahu and Likud have turned it Kahanist and thrown away the dignity and Begin's legacy. So Bennett!" The article notes that Livnat's harsh criticism of Likud is not new, and that last August she said Likud had reached the end of its road and should cease to exist.
