Liberman: We will break all the tools on funding only state education. The clock is ticking, at this rate the state will collapse

Yisrael Beiteinu chairman Avigdor Liberman stated at the "People of the State" conference that his party will work to pass a law funding only state education, while dismantling the "El HaMa'ayan" and independent education networks. Liberman warned that at the current rate, by 2030 most first graders will be Haredi or Arab, and by 2048 a Haredi prime minister is expected. He attacked the Haredi parties and said that Rabbi Landau's statements are accepted by them.

Yisrael Beiteinu chairman Avigdor Liberman appeared this morning (Tuesday) at the "People of the State" conference of ynet and "Yedioth Ahronoth", exactly two weeks before the elections. Liberman declared that his party will work to legislate a law that will determine state funding for state education only, while dismantling the "El HaMa'ayan" and independent education networks. According to him, "We will break all the tools on this." Liberman warned of a demographic trend: "In 2030, in first grade, 52-53% will be either Haredi or Arab... At this rate, by 2030 most children in first grade are Haredi or Arab, that means that by 2048 you will have a Haredi prime minister here. In my opinion, the state will collapse before that." His remarks came against the background of a study revealed by Chen Artzi Sror in "Yedioth Ahronoth", according to which in four years there will be more first graders in Haredi education than in the state-secular stream. Liberman attacked Degel HaTorah chairman Yaakov Asher, who said that Rabbi Landau's statements against Zionism are acceptable to him. About Benny Gantz, Liberman said: "He is probably in terrible distress. I feel sorry for him." Liberman recently presented a political plan for Judea and Samaria, which drew criticism from the Netanyahu bloc.
