Three incidents of weapons seizures and arrests were recorded yesterday (Tuesday) in the north of the country, in an operation by the Israel Police and the Border Police. In an operation conducted in an open area in Yarka, Border Police coast unit fighters located a bag hidden among the bushes, containing a Kalashnikov assault rifle, two full magazines of ammunition, 7.62mm bullets, and additional weapon parts. The findings were transferred for further investigation at the Western Galilee station. In Sakhnin, a 23-year-old resident of the place was arrested, minutes after he allegedly fired at a residential house and a vehicle. The suspect fled the scene on an electric scooter, wearing a helmet and gloves. When he noticed a police car, he stopped the scooter, threw a pistol, and tried to flee on foot while climbing a gate, but was arrested by the police. The pistol was found loaded with a bullet in the barrel. At the end of the investigation, the Haifa District Attorney's Office filed an indictment and a request for detention until the end of proceedings. Meanwhile, in Nazareth, forces identified a suspicious vehicle and signaled the driver to stop. The driver began to flee, and during the chase threw a pistol and a fragmentation grenade from the car window. The police arrested the suspect, a resident of Nazareth, and his detention was extended in court until September 23.
