"It's stupid to fly to such countries, better to go straight to Gaza": social media dispute over a flight from Dubai

After an attempted hijacking of a Flydubai flight on September 30, a debate erupted in Israeli social media about the safety of traveling to countries with travel advisories. Influencers Likush Menachem and Rotem Revivo sharply criticized Israelis who continue to fly to Dubai and Sinai, calling them "idiots" and urging them not to "play with fire."

Following the dramatic attempted hijacking of a Flydubai flight on September 30, a heated debate broke out in Israeli social media over whether Israelis should fly to countries and regions subject to travel advisories. The incident occurred on a flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv: the co-pilot, an Omani national, tried to crash the plane with 174 passengers on board, but the captain and passengers subdued him and landed the aircraft in Saudi Arabia. Two Instagram stars, Li (Likush) Menachem and Rotem Revivo, sharply criticized Israelis who continue to fly to Dubai and Sinai despite the existing warnings. Menachem, in her stories, called such people "idiots" and said she does not understand why anyone would go to places where travel is not recommended. Revivo agreed, calling such trips reckless, and added: "Let's go for a day of fun in Gaza then, and be done with it."
