Israeli law firms raise NIS 172,000 for northern communities in charity basketball tournament

Ten leading Israeli law firms raised NIS 172,000 for northern communities in the fifth annual DLA Piper Israel Charity Basketball Tournament. The funds will provide hot meals through Leket Israel to families still recovering from the war with Hezbollah. Meitar won the tournament, defeating Arnon, Tadmor-Levy in the final.

Ten of Israel's leading law firms raised NIS 172,000 (approximately $57,000) for northern communities in the fifth annual DLA Piper Israel Charity Basketball Tournament, held at the Hashalom Sport Center in Tel Aviv. The funds will provide hot meals through Leket Israel, the national food bank, to families still recovering from the war with Hezbollah. The tournament brought together lawyers from firms including Amit, Pollak, Matalon & Co.; Arnon, Tadmor-Levy; FBC & Co.; Furth, Wilensky, Mizrachi, Knaani; Goldfarb Gross Seligman; Gornitzky; Herzog Fox & Neeman; Meitar; S. Horowitz & Co.; and Shibolet & Co. Meitar won the tournament, defeating Arnon, Tadmor-Levy in the final; Meitar attorney Orpaz Azoulay was named MVP. The event has raised more than NIS 670,000 ($220,000) for charitable causes over five years. Jeremy Lustman, managing partner of DLA Piper Israel, said the north absorbed more than its share and families are still rebuilding. Gidi Kroch, CEO of Leket Israel, called food rescue national infrastructure. Leket Israel, founded in 2003, distributes rescued food through 360 nonprofits, reaching 470,000 people weekly; in 2025 it rescued over 2.24 million cooked meals and 32 million servings of fruit and vegetables.
