Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian revealed in an interview with Fox News that Tehran has reached an agreement with former US President Donald Trump, and that the framework for the agreement has already been finalized. Pezeshkian said: "Indeed, we have reached an agreement with your president. The agreement has been signed, and based on it we are ready and still interested in moving forward; the framework has already been finalized." In the interview, conducted against the backdrop of rising tensions between Iran, the US, and Israel, Pezeshkian addressed several key issues: he denied the claim that Iran closed the Strait of Hormuz, and argued that "they attacked us without any legal justification." Pezeshkian noted that one of the main problems facing Iran is the blocking of Iranian funds in China, and said that Tehran cannot withdraw its money from a country to which it supplied goods. The Iranian president emphasized that his country does not seek war, but clarified: "If they want to continue fighting us, we will respond forcefully." He directed a message to the American administration, saying that if Washington wishes to reach an agreement within the framework of international law, Iran is ready for that. Pezeshkian placed the blame for the escalation on Israel, claiming that "due to provocations by Israel, this war was forced upon us." He also addressed the protests in Iran, saying that anyone who wishes to protest has the full right to do so, but expressed opposition to turning the protests into a weapon. Pezeshkian criticized Trump, saying that "the gift they brought us was guided missiles, heavy weapons, and destruction."
