The New Israel Fund, in partnership with the Vivian Silver family, held the "2026 Vivian Silver Award" ceremony on Wednesday evening in Tel Aviv. This year's award was given to Meredith Rothbart and Ghadir Sabbat-Qart, co-founders of the "Amal-Tikva Foundation," in recognition of their work to strengthen the capacities of civil society organizations and develop the professional infrastructure necessary for building peace. The ceremony was attended by members of the Silver family, along with social activists and academics, for the third consecutive year since her death in October 2023. During the ceremony, Yonatan Zeigen, Vivian Silver's son, spoke about the loss the family has experienced and their decision to continue following in his mother's footsteps, expressing pride in the award and his mother's legacy. The winners thanked the family and the fund, emphasizing that peace is built gradually through change in people's lives and institutions. The Amal-Tikva Foundation works with over 80 civil society organizations.
