IDF destroys dozens of monuments honoring terrorists during West Bank counterterror operations

The IDF destroyed dozens of monuments and signs honoring terrorists during counterterrorism operations in the West Bank over the past two weeks. The military said the monuments glorified terrorists deemed martyrs and were destroyed to combat incitement. Troops also seized weapons and terror funds.

Over the past two weeks, the IDF destroyed dozens of monuments and signs commemorating terrorists during multiple counterterrorism operations across the West Bank, the military announced on Friday. The operations focused on targeting hubs associated with terrorist organizations involved in inciting terrorism and supporting Hamas's October 7 massacre. The monuments and signs, frequently created to glorify terrorists deemed to be 'martyrs,' were destroyed as part of the IDF's efforts to thwart terrorism and crack down on violent incitement. Over the course of five operations, the IDF searched thousands of locations, arresting dozens of wanted individuals and issuing multiple warnings. Israeli troops also seized thousands of shekels in terror-related funds and weaponry, including handguns and drones. The IDF vowed to continue carrying out counterterror measures and combatting incitement in the West Bank. Separately, on Wednesday, the IDF announced raids on multiple alleged charities in the West Bank that acted as funding fronts for terrorist organizations, including Hamas and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP). Five terrorist collaborators were arrested, and computers, documents, and checkbooks bearing Hamas-associated markings were seized.
