Ayana, the sister of 13-year-old Yair Vilensky who was killed in the fatal accident during the annual school trip at Ramim Ridge, is interviewed for the first time on N12. She was on her honeymoon in Indonesia when she heard about the explosion. In the interview, she recounts the difficult moment she received the news, the long journey back to Israel, and the farewell from her brother, who was an Israeli fencing champion. Alongside the pain, she raises questions about the circumstances of the disaster: 'We understood that the area was full of weapons. We have questions about the route that was chosen'. In the explosion, Yair was killed and 24 students and staff members were injured. The Ministry of Education claims that the trip was approved according to procedures. Despite the disaster, Ayana asks that children continue to hike in the north, in a controlled manner.
