Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced that the death toll from Hurricane Isaias has risen to six. Two additional deaths were added to the count: a woman killed after a tree collapsed on her home in Escambia County, and a man who died from carbon monoxide poisoning due to improper use of a generator. The four other deaths include a tragic accident of a tree falling during cleanup work, a fatality in a car accident, and two people who died due to disruptions in receiving medical care. The governor emphasized that Florida's policy is to link to the storm any death resulting from its consequences. Recovery efforts continue in northwestern Florida. Preliminary damage estimates in Escambia County alone stand at approximately $64 million. More than 20,000 customers remain without power, out of about 400,000 that were cut off at the storm's peak. The hurricane struck Florida with winds reaching speeds of about 190 km/h. Additionally, two more deaths were reported in the neighboring state of Alabama.
