Hundreds of Israelis have been stranded in Bucharest after the Romanian airline AnimaWings, which operated direct flights between Bucharest and Tel Aviv, declared bankruptcy and canceled scheduled departures. Passengers received notification of the cancellations at the last moment, when they were already expecting to return home. They now have to independently arrange accommodation and purchase new tickets. Some passengers are forced to extend their hotel stays at their own expense. Additional costs could significantly increase for families and travelers who may have to spend several more days in Bucharest. It is not yet known how the issue of passengers on canceled flights will be resolved and whether they will be able to receive compensation for tickets and additional expenses.
