On election day for the Knesset, scheduled for October 27, 2026, travel will be free on Israel Railways and intercity bus lines longer than 15 kilometers. The benefit will start on the evening before the election, on October 26 at 8:00 PM, and will continue until the end of public transportation operations on election day. Eligible buses can be used without payment and without a ticket or identification. On trains, however, free travel will be possible only with paper tickets, which can be obtained from ticket machines at stations. Israel Railways will increase service on the Jerusalem–Tel Aviv line between 12:00 PM and 8:00 PM, with three trains per hour in each direction instead of two. The benefit does not apply to all bus lines, so it is recommended to check in advance whether the desired line is included in the arrangement.
