Houthis threaten 'Mecca Alliance': 'Turkey and Pakistan should not interfere in Saudi Arabia's moves'

The leader of Yemen's Houthis, Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, warned Turkey and Pakistan last night (Monday) against providing military assistance to Saudi Arabia, amid the ongoing escalation in Yemen. In a speech broadcast from his hideout, al-Houthi said that "the Saudi enemy wants to bring in the Turks and the Pakistanis and appeals to them day and night to participate in sins and aggression against our people," and "advised" them not to interfere in Saudi Arabia's moves. These remarks come after the Houthis captured vast areas on Yemen's western coast in recent weeks, including the strategic port city of al-Mokha, as well as islands in the Red Sea and the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, thereby strengthening their control over the international shipping route. Their military spokesman, Yahya Saree, stated that since the escalation began, Saudi Arabia has carried out hundreds of airstrikes in various Yemeni provinces. Meanwhile, the New York Times reported that the head of the pro-Saudi Yemeni government, Rashad al-Alimi, spoke with US President Donald Trump and requested military assistance, but Trump did not commit to it.
