Yosef Haddad, the number 2 candidate in the Amcha Yisrael party led by Ofer Winter, was interviewed this evening (Sunday) on 'The Patriots' program on Channel 14. Haddad, Winter's Arab-Christian partner, answered questions regarding his past and present actions. He explained the interview he gave to Saudi television, which he called 'historic', and said that for the first time he gave a voice to an Israeli Arab proud to be Arab and Israeli, who determines that Israel is not an apartheid state and that Hamas is a terrorist organization that massacres both Jews and Arabs. Haddad clarified that his reference to a Palestinian state in the interview was in the context of the 100-day plan, which received the support of the Prime Minister and promoted the deal with Saudi Arabia. He denied being captive to the concept, and noted that four months before October 7 he warned on Channel 13 of a heavy price to be paid if the terrorist organizations were not stopped. Haddad unequivocally stated that he accepts the State of Israel as a Jewish state, and said that if it is not Jewish, it will not be democratic. He said that when singing 'Hatikvah', he changes the words from 'Jewish soul' to 'Israeli soul' to connect with the anthem, but does not ask others to change. Regarding running with Amcha Yisrael, he said their goal is to bring a new spirit to the right-wing camp, which is tired of the existing parties.
