A bitter exchange of accusations erupted between Eli Feldstein and Yonatan Urich, an adviser and confidant of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, following a revelation that Urich met with a Qatari official during the war. The two posted messages on X, accusing each other of ties to Qatar and fraud, both using the same phrase: "He would have flown out the window." Feldstein wrote that had he known Urich was working for Qatar and meeting them during wartime while perpetrating a massive fraud, he would have flown out the window. Urich responded in nearly identical terms, accusing Feldstein of acting as a Qatari spokesperson in Israel while defrauding journalists. The exchange follows a report by Channel 12, according to which Urich confirmed in his investigation that he met during the war with Ali al-Tawadi, a Qatari official and close associate of the Emir of Qatar. At least two meetings took place in Europe in July 2024, about nine months after the war began. One of them, in Berlin, was also attended by Shrulik Einhorn and lobbyist Jay Footlik. In his investigation by Lahav 433 in May 2025, Urich was confronted with testimony from a former Mossad official. Urich did not deny the claims but said he had difficulty remembering. Prime Minister Netanyahu stated in his investigation that he was unaware of Urich's ties to Qatar. Urich denied promoting Qatari interests in Israel.
