Guardians of the Gate, where are you? The hypocrisy cries out to heaven | Col. (res.) Amir Noy

Col. (res.) Amir Noy attacks the Movement for Quality Government and opposition leaders for a double standard: in the past they demanded a vigorous investigation for any suspicion against Netanyahu, but now, with suspicions of election bribery and foreign influence, they downplay their severity and insist on swearing in the Knesset as scheduled.

Col. (res.) Amir Noy attacks in an opinion piece the Movement for Quality Government and opposition leaders Yair Lapid and Gadi Eisenkot for an alleged double standard in handling criminal suspicions. According to him, while in the past any suspicion against Benjamin Netanyahu became a public event demanding investigation and petitions, now, with serious suspicions of election bribery and foreign influence on the results of the 26th Knesset elections, the Movement for Quality Government does not petition on the matter and the opposition leaders insist on swearing in the Knesset on schedule. Noy notes that the chairman of the Central Elections Committee, Judge Noam Solberg, turned to Shin Bet chief David Zini and requested an investigation within a week, and that arrests and evidence of payments have been reported. He emphasizes that suspicions should not be turned into convictions, but expects the opposition to say that if concrete evidence is found, they will support any legal step.
