Government advance in Al-Jawf and Taiz, and Houthis target Riyadh airport

Military confrontations continue in Yemen as government forces announce progress in Al-Jawf, Taiz, and Marib, while Houthi escalation includes claiming to target King Khalid Airport in Riyadh with a ballistic missile, amid deteriorating humanitarian conditions in Taiz.

Military confrontations continue in Yemen on several fronts, with government forces announcing field progress in the provinces of Al-Jawf and Taiz, alongside ongoing clashes with the Ansar Allah group (Houthis), and an expansion of military operations and mutual attacks, amid deteriorating humanitarian conditions, especially in Taiz province. Government forces announced progress in the Hewishan and Al-Duhaydah mountains and eastern fronts in Al-Jawf province, as part of Operation 'Fajr al-Yaman' aimed at opening the road towards the city of Al-Hazm, noting field gains on the Al-Jawf and Taiz fronts. They also announced repelling Houthi attacks on the Al-Aqroud and Hayfan fronts in Taiz, and the Al-Kasara front in Marib, and seizing the Al-Duhaydah heights in Al-Jawf, alongside intensive airstrikes. Government forces spokesman Majed al-Nuzaili said his forces carried out 1,322 military operations against the Houthis in the past 24 hours, resulting, according to him, in the killing and wounding of 340 group members, and the destruction and damage of 114 military vehicles and armored vehicles. In response, Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree announced targeting King Khalid International Airport in the Saudi capital Riyadh with a ballistic missile, while the group said it recorded 104 Saudi airstrikes targeting the Yemeni capital and seven provinces within 24 hours, hitting civilian facilities and properties, bringing the total number of airstrikes, according to its count, to more than four thousand.
