The script was written in collaboration with original writers Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan, who were responsible for the first two seasons. Murphy contacted about ten original cast members to discuss the possibility of a revival, and the actors showed interest, but none have yet read the new script. Murphy plans to write several episodes before deciding on the next steps, to gauge the team's reactions. The announcement comes after actress Lea Michele expressed willingness to participate in a future project. "Glee" aired from 2009 to 2015, won six Emmy Awards and four Golden Globes, and featured a large cast. Since the series ended, three of its stars have passed away under tragic circumstances.
