Ghazi Hamad: The 'Peace Council' is helpless and what is happening in Gaza is a stain of shame

Hamas leader Ghazi Hamad stated that what is happening in Gaza is a stain of shame on the international community's forehead, criticizing the Security Council's inability to take practical steps to stop Israeli violations and massacres. He accused the council of fear and cowardice, noting that it adopted a ceasefire but did nothing, while 98% of schools have been destroyed and 85% of the population relies on aid.

Ghazi Hamad, a member of Hamas's political bureau, stated that what is happening in the Gaza Strip is 'a stain of shame on the international community's forehead,' criticizing the Security Council's inability to take practical steps to stop Israeli violations and massacres against Palestinians. In press statements on Wednesday, Hamad said that the Security Council, when discussing the situation in Gaza, merely describes it as a 'humanitarian situation,' without daring to talk about 'Israeli violations, bloody killing, mass killing, massacres, and destruction of homes.' He added that 'fear and cowardice' in dealing with Israeli violations encourage the occupation to continue killing and expand 'criminality.' Hamad criticized the Security Council, saying it 'accepted to be responsible for this entire process,' and adopted a ceasefire but 'did nothing,' even regarding the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza. He noted that the amount of aid currently entering the Strip is less than what is needed, amid deteriorating humanitarian conditions and continued targeting of vital facilities. Hamad said 'hospitals are being destroyed every day, infrastructure is being destroyed every day,' adding that 98% of schools have been destroyed and about 85% of Gaza's population relies on aid. He described the situation in the Strip as 'tragic, unprecedented in modern history,' criticizing the Security Council's positions as limited to issuing calls and demands without taking a 'practical step' to stop what is happening in Gaza.
