"Gadi, 7:00 PM at Kfar HaMaccabiah": Gantz and Eisenkot meet amid fears of wasted votes
Benny Gantz posted a message to Yashar chairman Gadi Eisenkot, "Gadi, 7:00 PM at Kfar HaMaccabiah," amid Eisenkot's calls for Gantz to withdraw from the election race. The meeting takes place against the backdrop of fears of wasted votes in the Change Bloc. Gantz stated he has no intention of withdrawing and is not seeking a position.
Three weeks before the elections, Blue and White party chairman Benny Gantz posted on X: "Gadi, 7:00 PM at Kfar HaMaccabiah," a call to Yashar chairman Gadi Eisenkot to meet. The meeting occurs amid Eisenkot's efforts to prevent wasted votes in the Change Bloc, and according to assessments, he is expected to propose that Gantz withdraw from the race. Gantz's camp stated he has no intention of withdrawing and is not seeking a position, rejecting the initiative outright. The conversation follows a meeting held last Saturday in the basement of opposition leader Yair Lapid's home, attended by Eisenkot, Naftali Bennett, Avigdor Lieberman, and Yair Golan, without Gantz. At that meeting, a principles document was drafted alongside disagreements, with Lieberman blocking Eisenkot's demand to pre-determine an agreed candidate for the bloc for fear of weakening his power. Concurrently, a division of sectors was agreed upon: Golan will operate in the Arab sector, Lieberman among former Soviet Union immigrants and the traditional right, and Bennett in "parliament" meetings to bring back disappointed right-wing voters.
