France reimposes restrictions on Israeli defense firms at Euronaval 2026

France has imposed new restrictions on Israeli defense companies ahead of the Euronaval maritime defense exhibition, scheduled to open near Paris on Tuesday, November 3. The French government informed organizers that it is once again imposing a 'clearly defined and highly restrictive framework' on non-governmental Israeli exhibitors, restricting them from fully displaying 'offensive weapons.' Israeli Defense Ministry officials described the measures as part of a systematic policy aimed at excluding Israeli defense technology from the international stage under the guise of political considerations. The move continues a pattern seen at other defense exhibitions: at Eurosatory in June, France prohibited official Israeli government representation and allowed only air defense or ballistic missile protection products, with organizers erecting wooden panels to block several Israeli booths. At the Paris Air Show in June 2025, black walls were erected overnight around booths of Israel Aerospace Industries, Rafael, and Elbit Systems. Ahead of the 2027 Paris Air Show, Israeli companies have been told they will not receive significant exhibition space. Elbit Systems announced it will present its Unmanned Underwater Vehicle capabilities at Euronaval for the first time, following its acquisition of International Submarine Engineering Ltd.
