Sizel turned to the Police Legal Adviser, Superintendent Iran Nahon, and requested his response on how the plan to expand the appointment round aligns with the positions presented. In effect, the message to the Commissioner is to halt the discussion on the appointments scheduled for this coming Thursday. Yesterday it was revealed that after Minister Ben Gvir froze police appointments, Commissioner Levy intends to continue with appointment rounds and is planning a placement discussion for additional officers. Last week, Levy and the command staff appointed 50 officers at the rank of Deputy Commissioner, but the Minister announced he refuses to sign off on the appointments until after the elections, so the selected officers will not be able to assume their positions until then.
