Lufthansa crew stops overnight stays in Israel until December

Lufthansa Group announced temporary changes to flights to and from Israel, with crew no longer staying overnight in Tel Aviv until at least late November or December. Some flights will make technical stops in Larnaca or Athens. The reason was not stated.

The Lufthansa Group announced today (Thursday) temporary changes to its flight policy to and from Israel, so that until December, flight crews will not stay overnight in Tel Aviv. Following the refusal of crew members to sleep in Israel, some flights will make a technical stop in Larnaca, Cyprus, or Athens, Greece. Passengers whose flights are affected will receive direct notification. The company's announcement did not specify the reason for the change. Last week, it was determined that airlines will be required to report crew members on flights to Israel 48 hours before departure, as part of the tightening of aviation security requirements.
