Five days after their release, investigators from the Yahba unit in Lahav 433 gathered new evidence strengthening suspicions against Kfar Saba Mayor Rafi Sa'ar and his wife Mital Sa'ar. According to sources familiar with the investigation, the evidence includes proof of fund transfers. The scope of the suspected bribery is estimated at hundreds of thousands of shekels, while the value of the projects in which contractors allegedly received favors reaches millions of shekels. The case also examines a loan document for 2.5 million shekels between Mital Sa'ar and businessman Efrayim Kahlon. Investigators have yet to access the cellphone of the economic company's CEO, and the court has not yet ruled on the issue. A decision on extending restrictive conditions is expected before October 27, and indictments will be filed after reviewing the investigation materials at the prosecution.
