Eran Amar, a 51-year-old firefighter at the Ashdod fire station and father of six, was killed about two months ago in a traffic accident on Route 42. His family members speak of the sudden loss and his heroism on October 7, 2023, when he risked his life to rescue young people fleeing the Nova party. His brother Alon recounted that Eran received a call from singer Lior Narkis, whose relative was at Nova, and went to rescue them from the inferno. The relative, Dor Narkis, wrote that Eran got him out of Nova with his car after they fled for hours under fire. His daughter Adi, 20, who was supposed to get married next month, canceled the wedding following her father's death. She said her father was the family's pillar, a happy person who loved to help. Adi expressed anger at the driver who caused the accident, whom she said drove negligently, and stated that in her view her father was murdered. She also recounted a previous accident 20 years ago, in which her father saved another firefighter and suffered a severe leg injury. His brother Alon said the family has not recovered since the accident and that Eran was a special person who helped everyone.
