Ynet publishes a set of voting rules for IDF servicemembers in the Knesset elections on October 27. Military polling stations will operate from 08:00 to 22:00. For troops in operational sectors (Gaza, Syria, Lebanon), mobile ballot boxes are provided, to be brought to them starting at 22:00 on October 20. Servicemembers may vote at any base where they are on election day, or at a civilian polling station, but only once. Identity can be confirmed by military ID, identity card, driver's license or foreign passport. Troops without documents are allowed to use their personal dog tag. The IDF strictly prohibits servicemembers from expressing political views on social media, liking or commenting on party posts. Reservists not on active duty are allowed to speak out, but without wearing uniform. Unlike the civilian sector, election day in the army is not a day off. The article also explains that a servicemember may be a member of a party without disclosing that status, and that to run for the Knesset one must suspend service 100 days before the elections.
